Pumpkin Activities and Ideas

I have a few fun pumpkin activities and ideas for you to use this fall season in your classroom. The pumpkin activities can be used for grades K-4th. You will find reading and math pumpkin activities that will still be educational and go along with any curriculum. Scroll down below to see all my pumpkin resources. FREE Pumpkin Glyph
FREE Pumpkin Glyph is a fun project to do with students during the fall or holiday season. This glyph uses a legend that students have to follow to make a pumpkin that describes them. Once all the pumpkins are made, will the students be able to tell which pumpkin belongs to which student? Click the picture on the left to download it from TPT.

Here are 3 PLACE VALUE blocks that students match the blocks with the number. These packs have 10s, 100s, amd 1000s place. Click on the pictures below to read more about them.

FREE Addition Game Poison Pumpkin
Here is a FUN and FREE game to help learn addition facts. Cut apart all the addition task cards and place them in a coffee can. Students take turns drawing task cards and stating the sum on each one. If the student says the correct sum, they get to keep the card. If the students says the wrong sum, they have to the card back in the coffee can. If a student picks a Poison Pumpkin card, they have to put ALL their cards back in the can. Beware! this game gets a little loud. But the students are learning and having fun too! Pumpkin Antonym and Synonym Task Cards
Do your students need some help distinguishing from antonyms and synonyms? This pack has 50 task cards. Students decide if the 2 words on the task cards are antonyms or synonyms. This comes in a cute pumpkin theme. Great to brighten up your reading centers this fall season.

Sounds for _ed Pumpkin Theme
Pumpkin "_ed" Sounds has 40 task cards. Students try to find the matching word that makes the same ending sound. Another cute pumpkin theme to use for your reading centers. These are perfect for 1st and 2nd graders.

Plural Pack

Are you ready to pull your hair out with all those plural noun rules? I have a Freebie displaying 8 Plural Noun Rules on one nice little sheet. This poster only displays 8 plural noun spelling rules with an example of each one. If your 2nd and 3rd graders struggle with plurals, this poster can help. There are so many rules to follow that it's easy to forget how to add endings when writing plural words. You’re free to download it and use it in your classroom. Free Snakes and Ladders using HFW Fry 1-25 Words

Do you like to play Chutes and Ladders? I have a similar game using High Frequency Words! Your students will squeal with delight while playing this game and learning their HFW. I have a free sample from my Snakes and Ladders HFW Games pack. This freebie uses the Fry HFW List for words 1-25.  This is a fun way to read HFW!

Free Snakes and Ladders HFW Game
The game is played like "Chutes and Ladder" but with a twist! When students land on a word, they say the word aloud and put it in a sentence. Perfect for practicing to read these words and making complete sentences. If the student reads the word correctly, they move up the ladder. But be careful of the snakes. If you land on its head, you'll have to slide down the snake.  HFW Lists and Assessments
Do you need to see where your students are on a reading level? This pack, High Frequency Words List and Assessments, can help you keep track of your students reading level. This pack lists HFW 1-1000. It has a list of 100 words on each page and an assessment sheet to keep track of your students 5 times in the year. It also includes lists that have 10 words on each list. This would be great for younger students. Place the lists on rings. Students pick up a list and practice reading. These HFW Lists and Assessments will be great in a K-5th grade classroom.
